Default 2000 250 EC - what goes where?

Hi All,

Apologise if this has already been covered - I scrolled through 20 odd pages and could not find what i needed.

Basically, I've got a 2000 250 EC, no lights, no voltage regulator etc.. just a bare bike.

I've ordered the bits i need to put her right, but has anyone any Photo's of where things go, haven't a clue where the regulator should be fitted etc.

Any Photo's would help

Thanks in advance

A

Wiring diagrams are in the manuals. There are only parts diagrams for the 2000 model, but assuming you have the kokusan 2k3 (big flywheel, wires exit the case at 2 o'clock), the wiring diagrams from later models would be fine.

Gas Gas Manuals

For basic lights and a horn, there is something to be said for making up your own lighting loom. MattR did a write up:

here

Not sure how much Gas Gas would charge for a wiring loom. If you are in the UK, pro racing does lighting kits for enduro bikes:

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

Looking at mine, i have the 2k 2 stator as they exit at 10 o'clock.

I found 3 wires, 2 yellow, 1 orange.

When i measure i find one producing 12vac and the other producing 17vac at tick over?

Does this mean the orange is earth, if so, can it share the same as the DC earth?

If so, which do i use, the 12vac wire or 17vac wire?

Thanks

Not sure, I'm not familiar with the 2k2. They were more prevalent with the older gasers sold in the US, rare in Europe. The 2k3 lighting runs off the yellow wire that grounds to the frame. There is also a white wire from the lighting coils, which is not normally used. Everything else goes to the ignition. I think the regulator would go on the same tab as the spark plug coil, it does on the later bikes.

A wiring diagram for 2k2 lighting would be helpful (some ktms, huskies and tms will also have used the same set up, if you can't find a GG one)

Maybe someone with experience of the 2k2 bikes will chime in.

Default kill switch

Hey all, i have been looking at wiring diagrams but mine doesnt seem to match...I have an 01 EC250 that had all lights taken off.

I am trying to wire up a kill switch, as it does not have one.

Wires i have are:

a Yellow wire
a Yellow w/ green stripe wire
a yellow and a white wire that go to a connector together
