Glenn,
How do you get the spring off the Sachs shock while on the bike. Even with my collars backed out all the way I need to compress the spring to get out the retainer collar out. PIA.

I didn't say it was easy! A PIA but less than stripping the rear of the bike.
Yeah, my Sachs springs are the same, a slight amount of preload remains. I was able to muscle it up with a pry bar a few mm and slip the collar out. Fortunately its something that you don't do often as once you settle on a spring it stays in. |
