Default 07 EC250 Cylinder head engine mount

Hey everyone, long time reader, first time poster.
Has anybody else had issues with the engine mount on the cylinder head? I had two sets of aluminum mounts break, then I made some stainless steel ones and the mount on the head cracked down the middle. When I get a new head I'll have a good look for misalignment, etc., but I find it hard to believe that the mounts would bolt up with a significant misalignment, it's a pretty tight fit in there.

Welcome to the Gas Gas rider forums.

I would check that the motor mounts and swing arm mounts are tight.
The motor is "moving" around causing the stays to break.

Thanks for the tip, I'll check it out. Now if only I could track down a head I'd be set.

You have to think of the stays as being a "fuse". They will crack to let you know you have a problem. The stainless stays are just too stiff.

Here's a head and cylinder for sale.

Is the MC head the same as the EC head?
