Have you got a flywheel puller?

Keep us posted!

It could also just be a fouled spark plug, I would try a new plug first.
Done all that . Was fine then went to start but no go. Other than a possible sheared key the filter installed by the factory or dealer wasn?t installed correctly...bottom right corner sealing face of the filter folded back. So check your air filter when a new bike gets delivered ( no matter what make )

Just for peace of mind, I would ask your dealer to check the torque of the flywheel nut before you collect it, it'll only take them 5 minutes, I'm sure they wouldn't mind.

Or even better, check it yourself when you get it home.

Have fun on your new bike, I'm sure you'll love it!

I don't want to give GasGas any bad press (I'm a big fan) or make a mountain out of a mole hill.

I might be jumping to conclusions unnecessarily, it's just that I've recently read of two new/low hours bikes that have sheared the woodruff key.

A quick check of the flywheel nut might prevent you from getting stranded.

Thanks for the reply Dave I'm going to get them to check it before pickup, I'd rather it didn't become my problem

I was following on FB. Pretty sure he posted a picture showing some damage to the top edge of the piston (viewed through the exhaust port). Not sure where it went from there though.

I was discussing the flywheel sheering with my dealer last week when I was in the shop. The issue is that the factory has been using a dry thread sealant/pre applied loctite. The lack of lubrication (and possibly a lower than expected torque spec), means the torque wrench is hitting spec and clicking before the bolt bottoms out.

I think I might pull mine off and have a look.

I also saw a post on FB where a couple others have had the smaller bolts holding the ring gear onto the flywheel back out.

Thanks Jakobi, that's interesting and explains everything.

I don't use FB as I firmly believe it's the work of the devil.

So it sounds like the factory are aware of the issue and will have rectified it. I hope dealers are checking any bikes that might be affected as they pass through.

All the best, Dave.
