The weight solves the power valve coming on too strong and just smoothed it out all over. Can't go wrong.

Thanks so much! I reached out to Mark at GF to see if he has any more of them. What is involved in installation? Is it really involved?

Default Calming down the EC300

Simple pop off the cover, use an impact to unbolt the nut. Set the weight on the flywheel and bolt the new nut back on. I would recommend putting a 2nd gasket to ensure the weight does not hit the cover. With correct tools it's a 10 min max job.

Do any of the FWW fit on the E-Start bikes? I thought the ring gear was in the way of the FWW on the flywheel.

Whats all this talk about calming it down?? Drop 50ccs and you'll calm down the bottom to mid.. And then retain a whole lot of 2T excitement above that.

Everythings a personal preference and there is no right or wrong way about it.

Dropping the compression will reduce bottom end snap of the big beast, as will raising the cylinder and port timing. You can do both for the price of a base gasket or two with the only downside being you'll open the squish clearance up and lose some efficiency, again taming it down.

Taller gearing can mean less changes and really smooth out the delivery too. The 300 has enough grunt down low to chugg on, so if you're not riding goat tracks that require changes back to 1st too often this is an easy change. A front sprocket is also cheap and easy to change and evaluate.

Retarding the ignition timing. Free and easy, and reduces the low to mid bite.

G2 Ergo throttle cams. Really work well to reduce the sensitivity of the throttle in that first half a turn.

Flywheel weights. Add some stalling resistance and smooth the whole rate at which the engine spools up and down.
