Default Lazy Powervalve?

Loving my 2004 EC300.

I spent quite a bit of time getting the jetting dialled in and I'm very happy with the carb now.

Now I feel the power valve is a bit lazy. Loads of bottom end grunt but if I hold the throttle open it seems to take a while to really scream, it gets there eventually.

If I dip the clutch a bit it's there straight away.

Am I expecting too much or should I be checking the power valve adjustment/setup?

Any pointers greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Dave.

You may have some shims in your power valve governor to delay the opening of the valve slightly, assuming everything else is working as it should.

When was the last time you popped it out to clean it? Easy in situ.

Also just consider you main again esp as will be summer over there. Mine was lazy on a 175 and needed to be smaller to rev out with authority.

Results may vary of course.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I recently removed and cleanly the Powervalve assembly. It all moves smoothly and freely.

I'll try one step leaner on the main jet, if it's still the same then I'll remove the clutch cover and see what's happening at the governor end.

Cheers, Dave.

On the dyno mine did have a step before taking off in 4th. Probably less pronounced in other gears. That's why the road bikes got electronic controlled servos.
