Default Power valve problem

I have just replaced the bearings and decoked my powervalve.

When I have rebuilt it I noticed that it is in the wide open position, will this change / close when I start the bike up or have I done something wrong.

Maybe You accidentally pulled the pin to the govener assembly, causing the balls to dislocate.. try seaching the forum for threads about it, there is plenty of good info for helping you correct it..

The PV drums are out of "time" 180 degrees.

If I lay the bike on it's side, will I get away with not dropping the gearbox oil to remove the casing from the clutch side.

yes, on the side works fine - you will lose a minimal amount of oil.

Yep that's what has happened.

Laid it on its side and took the clutch cover off, managed to relocate my balls quite easily.

While I had it laid down, I was crouched over it with a garage lamp shining on, my sleeves rolled up and a pair of latex gloves on, when my daughter came home and said in a most dramatic voice "OMG doctor, can you save him"

i also have this problem.
i rebuilt the top end piston rings bearing and gaskets. cleaned the PV and checked everything twice.

when i ride it feels like the bike is cold will ride fine and but wont open up and take off like it used to.

i have also replaced the pipe with a FMF gnarly dont think it would change anything.

Depending on how many hrs and state of the piston etc your jetting could have been set for it how it was and is now a little bit lean with the fresh top end. Does it run better with the choke on?
