Default KX subframe...

hey..

anyone tried using KX subframe on their gasser...? i broke my rear end last weekend and im still considering to either repair or get a crossover subframe if it fits that is. a brand new subframe is a lil bit too pricey. the 1996 KX subframe looks kinda similar and its all over ebay. but still i dunno if it affects the entire bike due to a heavier material used on the subframe.

any help and 2cents would be greatly appreciated guys.

thanks..

I Have Tried It You Need To Drill Bigger Holes And Extend The Sub Frame Where It Connects To The Frame Under The Gas Tank.everything Lined Up Until I Tried To Put The Seat On.

What year is your gasser? My 97 ec250 has a kx subframe on it. Had to egg out the holes a little and change the seat mounting brackets. But everything lined up/fit well..

Infected,
I have a subframe off of my 04' that I would be willing to part with. Let me know if you are interested.

cruiser,....

mine is an '00 EC250. which yr is the KX subframe came from...? i might wanna source it out from ebay. does the change affects the handling or whatsoever...? currently i have an '01 airbox assembly fitted on it. i sure hope it will fit the KX subframe.

svt2224,..

hey, thanks for the offer.. i dunno about u guys but apart from the weight i kinda hate the OEM subframe material. i broke it once, had it repaired. crash and bent it, had it repaired again. and now it broke in another place. maybe its jus my riding, maybe its just too much mx but its definitely not my weight. i weight only 110lbs. anyhow, i'll keep the offer in mind, just in case. btw will it fit the '00 EC...?

thanks guys..

If your running that loop extension fender support get rid of it. Its a big lever in a crash and will increase the severity of bending if it takes a hit.

The subframe is a bbr from a 94-98 kx 250,, they were clearing them out for under $100 way back when.. they might even still have one.. I'd check with them..

infected,
I agree, they are pretty weak. This is the only bike I've owned that I actuallly kept and extra around. The rest of the bike makes it worth the trouble.
