Default WP forks, missing internals!

Having recently re-built my wp forks i discovered that both legs are missing the adjuster tubes
is there any reason a previous owner might have taken these out? perhaps they've been missing since new? no wonder the adjusters didn't seem to make any difference!

From what i can tell they're only a length of alloy tube so if someone has their forks in bits at the moment could they measure the length/ internal and external diameter so i can machine some up?
Many thanks
Tom

So you have no rebound adjustment with it full out, that sucks.

The rod also seals on the top damper rod o-ring ID, to keep oil out of the adjuster area. for that reason the dia should be matched as well.

Do you have oil weeping out of your rebound adjuster screws? If so this could be why.

yeah, no rebound adjustment! there wasn't any leaking though.
I've just had a look at the one's in my mates ktm as the forks seem to be the same wp units. Its just an alloy tube 512mm long, 6mm outside, 4mm inside.
I think i can get some 6mm tube which is 3mm inside so im planning on putting it in a lathe and drilling the ends out to 4mm as far up the tube as poss. Can't think of any reason why this shouldn't work?!

Yup. Your specs are correct, I just checked mine . Drilling to the 4 mm id for 25 mm on either end should do it. The tube does'nt flow any oil its just there to transfer preload from the cap.
