Default 2012 spring rates between 200/250/300

Yes they do. 5.2 shock spring and .42 fork springs on all three models.
Tried to get that changed in 2013 but wasn't able to.

Clay,

Next time there over here, load 'em up with that good southern BBQ and beer for a week and when they get home the message will be clear.

Thanks Clay. Are those rates OK for 170lbs in street clothes...or still too light??

I think you will be fine. I'm 176 lbs and they seem good to me at my B level speed so far. I thought I'd have to swap immediately because on my '07 I run 5.4/.44, but the '12 seems a bit different. Probably the linkage and 48mm PFP fork, which rides a lot higher in the stroke than the stiffer sprung 45s.

You may be. You could try it to see before you spent the money. I like my suspension over sprung a little bit. I think you get more benefit from the lighter part of the stroke/valving. Glenn (GMP) is about that weight so he's a good source I would trust. My right leg weighs 170 so I wouldn't know personally!

Like I said ride it first, and give it time to break in. Don't judge it by your old GG alone, I have one of each trust me. The bike does not feel soft to me and the sag/preload numbers seem to work out so I'm running with it. Maybe I'll see it different after a fast whooped out sand course but so far so good. Both Steve(twowheels) here and Les at LTR agree.

HOWEVER, I do know what great suspension feels like. It's HUGE.
