Thanks for the feedback guys. During an event I'd definitely remove the stand - however it is super convenient to have while dual sporting.
Clay-will the rubber strap you refer to on the '12 retrofit to my '11? Thanks again.

It loops around a spacer on one of the airbox/subframe bolts of the new subframe. I have two bikes, I'll check tonight. Its not a big deal to just loop and zip tie a section of inner tube to the subframe for a retainer strap.
