Default Adding keyed ignition 06 ec300

Hi all, I have an 06 ec 300 in beautiful shape. I'd like to add a keyed ignition to it.
I purchased an ignition from Motocrosscenter.com, it has 3 male space terminals on it. I figured I'd just wire it in parallel with the killswitch, hoping to keep the killswitch as well.
Looking for a little help to make sure I do it properly. 🤷*♂️

Simple enough. Take a multimeter to the switch terminals in the OFF position. Find two that have continuity and check that they go "open" when the switch is ON.

Also check for continuity to the switch housing since if it is attached to the bike frame, it will become grounded. Switch terminals generally do not have continuity to the housing.

The "closed" terminals in OFF get wired accross the kill button.

Thanks for the fast reply Neil, I appreciate the help. Coincidentally I'm just up the road from you in Barrie Ontario. You may have seen my ad on Kijiji or Marketplace for this bike.

I've seen a few of your posts on ADV Rider. I only ride single track in Simcoe since the Ganaraska forest became a disaster area.

You would need to connect it in series with your kill switch
