Technically, you can use 50/50 green Prestone. I'm in NY too & I have never seen a shop that didn't have Maxima Coolanol? BTW.. It is green too.

I think this may have originally come from the EngineIce directions, but have come accross it since. The vinegar helps descale and clean out any deposits. Apparently EngineIce is not compatible with any of the normal coolants.

EngineIce supposedly also has a lubricant added to help the impellor seal longevity or something like that. That is what the distributor told me when i asked about the bits floating around the bottle.
I have used EngineIce but cant say it is any better. If you are riding conditions where you are boiling often then a fan is hands-down the best
