Default The Perils of World Travel

If you have a chance to talk to Mark at GF....ask him about the gentleman on the plane from Atlanta to Paris who smelled so bad he made my eyes water and then ask him about the sausage in France! He ordered a grilled sausage at a restaurant on Tuesday and I thought he was going to spit it out. I wish I had a camera! The look on his face was priceless!

LOL you should have reached up and got your air mask ! Oh....and I would never eat any meat or meat type foods from France; don't they eat snails . Next time I place an order with Mark I'll have to bust his chops a little.

Clay,

My wife travels the world for her job and has been to France and sampled the moldy sausage! On the flip side the guys at the plant she visited would go hang gliding at lunch.

A few years ago I flew to Houston to have Mark Sanders fix my collarbone that needed a bone graft. On the way back I had a guy like your friend sit next to me! Difference is though I had a big jar of Vicoden from the good doc.

I could have used the Vicoden on that trip to sleep. It was horrible!

In 2006 I volunteered to help the folks at TTC with their first World Trials event. In the week prior to the event, one of the tasks I was given was to drive the French FIM official to each of the sections so he could inspect and approve them. He was a well-dressed man, and at first appeared to be well-groomed. Anyway, we're driving along in my side-by-side utility vehicle when I suddenly got a whiff of something rotten. It was like I drove over the large intestine of a 2-week-old road kill, releasing concentrated nastiness. It took me more than a few seconds to realize that unbelievable stench was coming from the individual sitting next to me!

Different cultures and approach to personal hygiene. Thats the norm for most Europeans. I've worked with German engineers visiting here and traveled in Russia and the same thing, clothes changed once a week needed or not. Nice people, and we should probably not take this too far and piss some of our Euro friends off.

There is a limit though when dealing with other cultures in mixed company and some guys clearly step over it.

That was the second worse choice of food i have ever tasted! A couple of years ago in Spain, Dustin ordered pigs foot by mistake, same horrible texture! No more cultural diverse stuff for me..cheeseburgers from here on out!

Clay was freaking about the smelly dude, so we drank beer on the way to try and forget about the smells only to upset the guy in front of us who was trying to sleep at 4 pm. I guess we were too loud for him! Damm americans!
