I have to agree with Glenn on the point of balance. .47 are super heavy springs. To generalize I'd say .47's are for 250 plus pound riders and a 5.2 rear for a 170 lb or less rider. you all so need to add alot more rebound damping on the forks to offset the extra energy that will be stored in the spring on compression. You must be running very little oil in the fork in order to get full travel? What do you weight with full gear on?

Never weighed myself with full gear on but I weigh 215lbs. with my gym clothes on. The springs are actually .46 that I got from LTR.

OK those are not unreasonable spring rates for the forks, givin your weight. but i can assure you that a 5.2 rear is to light for your weight. 5.5 to 5.6 would be more in the ballpark, and then and only then can you follow Glenns sound recomendations for sag adjustment.

I have a 1999 EC250 You talk about rebound and compression. on my front forks there is a blue knob at the top. On the bottom of the forkleg there is no other adjusting screws. Does the top adjuster just set one or both of the rebound or compression??

As I remember, left knob is for the compression and right for the rebound. 8 clicks out for either is the standard setting.

I have a 1998 EC250 Does anybody have the stock settings for the rear ohlins on this year bike.
Also i set the preload on the rear spring to 8mm on checking the static sag it measured up at 40 mm. the spring has some numbers on it but they dont mean a lot to me. The numbers are 596-09/05 088 I weigh about 170 lbs If i wind down the preload to get 15mm static sag then the spring ends up 3/4 way down the thread well under the thread center line. Any body help? |

Does the low speed have to be re-adjusted on the ohlins after moving the high speed, or just the sachs?
