Default triple clamp squeking and twisting when I crash!

I noticed my clamps making noises on the trail.

Is it possible I am not torqued properly? What are the proper torque specs for these clamps?

Does anyone know of a better clamp option to prevent the dreaded twisted fork syndrome? I frequently pick my bike up on the trail to find my forks have twisted and the bike now handles funky... This really affects the light handling and makes my bike handle poorly.

If you hear noise from the clamp area I would inspect the steering head bearings.
