Default 2018+ Front Fork Guard Rubbing issue

I have a 2018 EC300 and it has been pointed out to me that there is an issue with the front fork guards rubbing against the forks.

This may go unnoticed for quite some time, so please check your forks closely near the clip. I have 300km on my bike and the clip has some wear on it.

One of the facebook groups I am a member of brought this to my attention and Sean has made up some protectors.

Just thought I would bring this up for other users before its too late!

Being kyb you could also get some of the mud scrapers from skf to do the same (for those not based off n the UK) (or just keep an eye on it- the steel clip is there as a wear item)

Yes.. it's not just a KYB issue either.

Zip ties cost less than new clips, and much less than SKF.

From a quick look, the steel clip do anything other then provide a buffer from the fork guard...So yes, I guess a zip tie would be fine if you remove the clip?
