Default Marzocchi Oil Change

Hi All,
I am keen to do a fork oil change on my 48mm shivers, no leaks at the moment so just want to dump the old and in with the new.
Has anyone of a guide or how to for a quick oil change?

Cheers

Are you wanting to do a complete oil change or just the outer? Outer is super easy but considering the inner and outer mix it's not the best option. Doing a complete oil change is a lot more involved but well worth it IMO.

I did a video showing how to completely service the Marzocchi fork. A lot of steps you can skip for either type of fluid change. Hope it helps.

Do you refill based on height or a volume on these forks? I haven't messed with forks much before. Got the Marzocchi manual, and the specs there but read a bit about going off the levels instead

Yeah, they say levels but I go volume and it's well.

Great video, think I'll just pop the inner, fill to 140 and put it back together. I see you went with 5W oil, how did that go? I try to ride more aggressive and am at 185lbs so thinking the 7.5 might still be better

I'm an aggressive B rider. I weigh 140 lbs. The 5w oil works great and is all I use in all my forks.

Know that just because something says it's 5wt, or any weight, doesn't mean that's the actual weight. To truly know you need to find out what the spec of the viscosity at 40c is for proper comparison. The oil I run is 26.1 @ 40c.

I am an old, slower rider. I use KYB 01M fork oil which is approx 15 cst at 40C. I did also do some revalving to obtain less compression (and slightly more rebound) damping. Works very well for me.
