Default Rebound inner rod marzocchi 45

Pulled suspension apart, will make notes of all shimming inside the '08 300.
Being used to WP and KYB hollow rods, having a return spring on bottom, so when you manually press it to "inrease rebound", it jumps back, when released.
Not in marzocchi case. It just sits there. You cant press it in.
Both forks the same.

Before I go crazy, heating the piston rod, to remove the rebound valve holder, is this normal?
Extension rod is, when inserted, practically level to the piston rod. both forks.
