Default New old rider

Hey guys,

I am a 69 year old dirt guy from North Carolina presently in Alabama. I rode competitively in Moto-x back in the 70's and did some ISDT and cross country after that. I will be picking up a 2019 ec300 on Monday. My last bike was a WR450 Yamaha and have been thinking of trying a European bike after riding Yamaha's exclusively for years. I looked at Beta and Sherco before deciding on the Gasgas. What really intrigued me is the riders and the loyalty to the brand.

Thank you all for posting and making this new venture exciting for an old guy.

Welcome, and I think you will love this bike! The motor is strong, you can lug it or rev it, I like the way they are built (easy access to air filter, etc.) and the suspension is "fab"(ulous). Let us know what you think after you give it a ride or two!

I still like my '05 and can't give it up, but wanted E-start and 15 lbs. lighter. I think I have that with my '18 GG XC - it is better in every department

Jeff

Welcome Nightwind. I've got a plated "17 FE 250 Husky 4 st for dual sport, but when the ride is totally off road, I still prefer my '01 GG XC 200. It's just an all around great bike. Very easy to ride.

I've had it for a while now, I think I was your age when I bought it.
