Default fuel efficiency

My 2003 200 is bad on fuel against the 2004 ktm 200. Is there a model year for gas gas where mpg improved significantly?

My 200 averages 21 mpg enduro racing and 30 mpg more open dual sport riding. It is slightly better then a buds 14 ktm 200. Depends alot on riding style, terrain, bike jetting, etc. One thing to consider is float level setting,if high you can loose fuel from overflow tube in corners and not realize it.
