Default Rear shock cross over?

Good Day All,

I am wondering if any other manufacturers rear shock would fit my 02 EC300. I would like to have a back up shock for when the ohlins is out for servicing etc.
Any help is appreciated

Thanks Harry

I had an aftermarket Ohlins shock from a 1996-97 KX 125 on my 2000 300. It was a slightly different length but the different length pull rods (shorter if I remember correctly) brought it back to the correct ride height. I liked that setup better than stock as it seemed to be much more controlled and more plush at the same time. I removed that setup when the bike sold so PM me for more info if you want to see some pictures. On a final note, I fit a 1999 KX 250 shock in the frame/linkage and it also fit but I did not measure for proper pull rod length nor for exhaust clearance.

Selling my Ohlins shock from a GG. It's available in the classified "parts" section.

A quick eyeballing says my 98 KX shock might drop right into an 03 or later chassis. Someone will need to confirm if the upper shock mount on the 02 chassis is taller, like my 00 XC 250.

Yes, 02' and older have the long shocks.

Is anyone able to confirm the eye to eye centre distance for the 2002 shock?

Thanks
