Oil in the hole.
With the collective genius available on this site i'm sure someone has come up with a good way to get oil into the motor with out making a mess. I have three funnels all of which are too large. Last time I changed the oil i used an old Dawn liquid dish washing squirt bottle. I have a 2011 ec 300 the hole to put the oil is a little bitty pain in the hoo hoo. I leaned the bike over and squirted it in. How do you do refill?

I have a squirt cap that fits on oil bottles, just like you would find on a bottle of chainsaw bar and chain oil. Then I slip about 4 inches of vinyl fuel line on there as tight as I can get it. Slip the hose in the filler, tip the bottle up, and be patient. You can squeeze the bottle to speed up the fill, but if you fill too fast it will burp some back out.
I have a better idea brewing, but I haven't dug up the kit yet. HTH dean

I have a medium sized funnel and got a length (about 20cm) of clear tubing (like what is used for fishtanks, about 10mm diameter) warmed it up and pushed it over the end of the funnel.
then at the other end of the tubing i cut out a v of tubing so that i could fit it into the hole (with more heat on the other end you may be able to get a smaller size tube to fit the funnel and do away with having to make it smaller to fit in the hole) I also have a piece of wire attached to the funnel that i use to secure the funnel so i do not have to hold it there (some oils take longer to get through the funnel)

was digging thru the kitchen one day and found a funnel that would fit in the hole.. it is big enough to hold about 1/8 of a quart..
put the bike in gear, lean it over against the wall about 45 degree angle and fill.. works pretty good |

A friend of mine made this funnel for me. It screws into the hole in the case.

I use a 100cc syringe and just fill it up 9 times.

There are many tricks that have been discussed. Bottom line is you have to have something that will hold a qt of oil so you do not have to manually squeeze it in or refill a small funnel. An easy, available option is to go to Walmart and get a quart size funnel with the flexible bottom and small handle from the auto dept. Add a short section of plastic tubing that fits into the filler hole. This funnel can be flexed so that the small handle fits around the frame spar between the frame and the airboot for a good hold. Dump a qt in and go do something else like clean your filter.

Hard Parts Catalog should have that. Anodized, of course.

Very nice, still small and a multi fill job though. A "tall boy" version would be perfect.
