Default Steering dampers for 2010/2011s?

What are you guys running for dampers on your 2010 and/or 2011 GGs?

Scotts only makes a SUB mount and you have to run their top clamp which annoys me.

I would like a good old fashioned above bar mount to keep the bars as low as possible.

Thanks
Scotty

Scotty,
I'm using the GPR under the bar mount on my bike. With it you also need the top clamp but they have the new slim damper and there pretty close to the same height. I never liked this style before but this one doesn't bother me a bit.

I do not like sub mounts either. I made my own from an aluminum plate that bolts across a set of Bike Bonz handguard mounts. Its on an '07 but would go right on a '11. Easy to make.

What I'd like to know is the difference in size of the steering neck on the '10+ vs. the '07.

GPR submount raises the bars about 3/8".
I bought one back in December when they had the $100 off sale.

I can tell you my frame neck measured F-B 2.324" and L-R 2.332". By the numbers you can see it was oval, but some of that could be paint buildup.

The actual frame dimension might be 59mm (2.323")

With the Scotts damper arm just barely above the stem, I wound up with the bars 1/2" above stock based on using 7/8" bars.

With 1 1/8 bars, the best you would do is 5/8" above stock. This is with the bars barely clearing the Scotts damper body.

A different brand of damper might get you a bit lower, but I think a lower set of handlebars is the only way to stay at the height you want using a sub mount.

i'm looking for the highest rise mounts available, over the stock height. i've got a stock scott damper, what should i be looking for guy's? i'm 6 ft and i find stand up riding very comfortable if my bars are up and forward enough.

I am running the promotobillet Fastway set up. FIT system mount and stabilizer. Very nice set up. The post for a KTM neck will work perfect.
