If you want really good low end torque, I would suggest you to buy slide #6, the difference between original #7 and #6 is huge. Pulls almost like 300 now, super low end. My jetting is currently 182 main, 42 pilot and N3CJ needle. It's smooth, very good low and top end and does not take much fuel.
I wouldn't bother with a #6 slide for Australia. If you feel it needs more fuel off idle swap in a W diameter needle.

I've found for the 15 250's that 42 NEDW#2 175 (Suzuki OEM needle RM250) pulls strong and clean through the rev range. You can adjust the hit with the PV adjustment.

With the above jetting you should be getting around 100km to the tank too. Stock needle has only ever got me 70-80kms at best.

I put the above setup into our local dealers 15. He sold it with the same setup and the new owner (lonetree on the forum) hasn't changed it as far as I know. Dealer dropped the same setup into his 17 250R with good results too. Just make sure the float is set as well.

Ok cool thanks Jakobi. What do you sent the float too? The manual I have doesn't have a spec.

From memory the float height by Keihin spec on the shallow bowl models is 6.5mm. Given the angle the carb sits in the chassis though I have found setting it to 7.5mm works a bit better and haven't had any starvation issues.

The old lean her over 45 degrees and wait for the fuel to come out the overflows gives a decent indication too.

Finally got out on the bike for a good 50k loop of mostly single track. More than happy with the way the bike performed. Front end felt alittle firm but il wait for it to bed in before I play with the clickers. The clutch also sqwarked afew times on take off. Il pull out the plates and soak them as the bike had been sitting for 18 months before I got it. Played with the carb before heading out. Set the float, my mate had a NEDJ needle so chucked it in. Bike went well and revved clean, it's still running rich and the plug is very black. Towards the end of the ride it was fuelling up at times and more noticeable with the map switch on low. Other than that I can't wait to throw the leg over again.

Welcome to the forum, I too recently bought a Gasser, and am loving it. I ride a lot of tight rocky 1st and 2 nd gear stuff so to get some of the harness out of the fork I took the pre load to 1 turn, I think the manual says 2.5. They now feel much better. Mybike was way rich when I got it but the guys on here helped me get it dialled. I have an NEDW needle and love it, that was the biggest improvement for me. Good luck and enjoy.
