Default Buying Gas Gas 250

Hi
I am in the UK looking for a GAS GAS 250 EC.

I have recently found one that I am interested in, a 2007 EC model but
it seems to have a black exhaust and weird pipe coming from the Bottom of the left hand radiator!!!

I asked dealer and he knew nothing about the pipe and said the black exhaust looked as if came from the factory.

Did the 2007 Gas Gas 250 ever come with a Black pipe.

Have included a picture for reference. Any ideas what the weird pipe may be for, does not look standard?

"euro emission spec bike with a catalyst in the exhaust"

If it was this spec, would there be any other differences apart from the Cat in the exhaust?

Is there any Engine, Frame or other differences?

Thanks,
Sean

There was also a plug replacing the left side power valve, you should check that(it is black and the real one is silver). The catalyst is easy to remove as long as you can weld. It is right at the joint after the first u bend coming from the engine. If you look at the pipe closely you can see where the pipe was rewelded. Cut around the pipe and pull out the catalyst. you have to cut off the small pipe and plug the hole up with weld. There is also a throttle stop under the carb cap, remove that. Check the jetting as the euro emission spec used a 9 slide and a 115 or 119 main jet. You need a 7 or 8 slide and about a 175-180 main jet.
I will try to show some pics about the pipe.
