Lower End Rebuild
I am in the middle of a full lower end rebuild on an 02 250/300 and have a couple questions;
How do I get the roller bearing race off the crank? How do you get the bearings out of the case that don't have openings on both sides, The ignition side of the primary shaft, the h20 pump bearing and the powervalve bearing? The machinist pressing all the bearings out of my cases gave me a funny look when I asked him to remove those bearings and asked "How" Paul B |

Use a heat gun and heat the case up.
Then tap the case down on a solid surface, the bearing will fall out. For the race, heat it with the heat gun (10 min or so) and use a two jaw puller. I also use the freeze technique for reinstalling the bearings. |
