From the details and description from the Stark people themselves, this bike is a very good starting point for the electric future. The big question is of course if the bike will be as good as they claim.

From what I read, they address most issues when designing a bike in the "correct" manner. They seem to know what they are doing, motorcycle wise.

My biggest concern at this point in time is the battery capacity that seems to be too low for this bike to be an enduro bike capable of doing a 2-hour race like the ones we do around here. Also, there seems to be no quick replacement of the battery pack. Hence, no chance of going into the pits, replace battery in hurry, go out again.
But I could of course be wrong.

Anyway, I like the concept. Having an electric motor with the right controller and right software should enable it to do as they claim, to be able to tune the motor charateristics to each rider's liking. And the KYB suspenseion is well known. I am looking forward to seeing the bike in the flesh.

Unhappy Both happy and sad.

I'm all for it.

I'm not going to buy this one, but I welcome that now the game is finally on.

Maybe I'm on my last gas bike?

Yamaha designs some engines for Toyota. Toyota has recently had a breakthrough in solid-state batteries. Toyota does not build motorcycles and does not compete with Yamaha. Will Toyota sell batteries to Yamaha?

When Yamaha starts selling an unregistered YZE125X or similar with 18" rear, sidestand and solid-state batteries in about 2-3 years, I'll buy it, ride in lots of locations, enjoy the minimal maintenance and keep it for a long time. New plastic every 2 years, chain and sprockets once a year. Service and modify the suspension like I do now.

Do I want a new Beta 200RR? Yes, of course, but it's already starting to look obsolete.

I'm both happy for the new, and sad for the coming end of something I have worked so hard with for so long.

I'm already developing the app to integrate with the control EMCU to provide sweet 2 stroke sounds to BT earbuds so it doesn't sound like a sewing machine and provides excitement.

Stage 2 you can directly control power delivery to mimic a badly jetted bike. I'll make a ton of cash.

I haven't really got much further than the words on this page, but I'm a Big Picture kinda guy. I'll let my minions sweat the details.

it'll work!

For the cars they will have to have external speakers. need sound for everyone to see you have a $200k electric sportscar - the silent blur will probably cause some sort of mental issues to pedestrians
