Default do i need a rectifier?

Hi everyone having a little promblem with my horn not working. I just cant seem to get it working so i was thinking that it may need a rectifier to be able to work. My horn works great off a battery but on the bike it sometimes gives a faint noise. If it does need a rectifier would one these ones work ok http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Honda-Rect...#ht_957wt_1166 .thanks
