Default Needle for 300

Jakobi just had to go and say he found the JD needles boring so I tried a few others out. I had a needle that seemed very similar in size to the JD red. It's a DEK. Not sure if the taper is different or not or even how to tell. This needle has a longer straight section then The JD red and seemed to have a hellacious hit compared to the N1ef that was in it and the JD red. Anyone else ever try this needle? would the straight section that's longer cause the harder hit? Carb is an AS2 on a 10 300. And both the JD and DEK were in the middle clip for comparison.

Half clip leaner cousin of the popular DDK. I have used it in the 250s and a Husky 250. Same straight dia. as JD Blue, much richer than Red. FWIW, JD Blue is not boring, If I use the map switch on a 250 it can't be boring. The Suzuki needles are far more tame.

My brother has my blue needle in his bike, the DEK still seemed to hit harder. I have to have the red leaned out to clip 2 to make it run decent at all. So could the taper be different between the two? And what about the straight section being longer on DEK? JD needle is my needle I like for single track because I feel it has a very linear power delivery.
