Reed Spacer for EC 250
Just curious what a reed spacer from the EC300 will do to the power curve of a EC250?

if you mean 250 spacer vs. 300 spacer I think they are the same. If you mean adding a spacer to a 250, well... I have a '00 and '04 in my stable (both 250's). The '00 never had a spacer, the '04 always has. But I can't really compare for you. The '04 has heavy flywheel vs light one. Also has GG pipe vs Gnarly on the '00. But all having been said, these are 2 absolutely differant bikes. The '00 is a real fire-snorter and is ready to pick the front end up at the flick of the wrist. The '04 is so mellow you would think it was a step-child to the other but it still has all the power, just kind of blends. Maybe someone else has tried their bike with and without the spacer and can chime in. I can't imagine it would make that big of a differance all by itself but I may be wrong. I think I have read that a spacer will soften the powerband hit and promote better low-end response.

I was told the spacer comes stock on the bike, if you remove the spacer it has a little more mid hit. The only time I have put mine back in is when I've made jetting changes and replaced the reeds. The change in "hit" wasn't something that stood out it me. (I'll warn you though, I can move my clickers on the suspension 4 or 5 clicks and not really tell the difference )
I think if your doing it in addition to other mods it helps. If it's the only thing your changing, very mild change and makes the carb to air box boot almost too short. Jetting has had a big effect on hit on my bike, see the threads on this site for no hit and big hit jetting.

When i installed the spacer on my 250, it added a little torque to the bottom, smoothed the mid just a bit, and took some away from the top,so it didn't rev quite as good. now i run my 250 & 300 without spacers.
