Is EC300 piston the same for all years?
Is the EC300 piston the same for all years? I ask because I'll see things like Wiseco piston kits on ebay and they'll list model years 2000-2007, or a Wossner Piston kit that lists '03-'09. I also have the same question regarding top-end gasket kits.
I'll be doing my '09 in the near future. I assume they're really all the same, but I just wanted to verify. Thanks. |

They're the same right through. Maybe the real early models are a bit different. I'm not sure about that but all late models are. Make sure you match the piston size to the barrel A,B,C,D etc (or up one size on the piston if its got a few hours).

What is the 'standard' size piston they throw in at the factory?
I'm coming up to my first top end and would like to have the new piston sitting there ready to go straight in. Should of checked it when I had the barrel off when I got the head done, hindsight hey. |

They match the piston to the cylinder. Different tolerances in batches mean different ones. My 300 cylinder has a letter printed at the back (carb side) of the cyl. I think some of the newer S3 cast cylinders might have them printed into the bottom on the gasket surface though. I'll check mine later.
