Default Sherco

I wanted to let you all know that today we began taking orders from our dealers for the 2013 Sherco off road line. At this point they only offer a 300i and 250i Racing version and the XRide to us. Early next year we will get limited numbers of their new 250 and 300 two strokes. In the spring they will be finishing up new engines for their 450 and 510 4T models.
We're pretty excited about this brand. Mark Berg and I visited the factory in France back in July and we were impressed with the company and the motorcycles. The fit and finish on this brand is really nice.
Some of you are probably wondering how this affects Gas Gas. It does not. Gas Gas is still our main line but we did realize back earlier this year that we had all of our eggs in one basket. We decided we needed a back up brand in case our main brand stubbed it's toes again.
If you get a chance, go over to www.sherco.com and look what they have to offer.

Surely to be a winner if you and Mark handle Sherco as you have GG.

Good luck.

A few years ago I had the pleasure of test riding a Sherco 450i, and came away very impressed with the performance. Looking the bike over, I was even more impressed, so impressed that I wanted to order one of the 250i models, but that is about the time the ecomony went down the tubes and RYP quit bringing in bikes in volume.
Clay bringing in the Sherco 250/300 models is great new indeed. From what I have read, the Sherco is the only bike out there that can challenge the brilliant KTM 250 4T offroad bikes (I love the XC-F).

servo controlled power valves is nothing new. My wife's 1986 RD350YPVS has exactly that. I wasn't into dirtbikes in the eighties, so I don't know if the dirt Yamahas of the period had the same system.

I think the DT200 of the day did (neat little dual purpose, liquid cooled 2T), and later Honda took a swing (and a miss) at it.

As far as I know, the previous attempts have been two-postion (open / "close") type operations. I have to believe that a 3 or 4 stage opening would smooth out the power nicely. Short of figuring out how ot make a trombone pipe work, this may be our best chance getting rid of the hit, yet being able to tune a 2T for broad power.

Just picked up the 300i Race from the airport. The United States Department of Agriculture had the bike for three days. Maybe someone in the USDA rides offroad and wanted to look at the bike? Anyway....I will try to get close up photos loaded on the website as soon as posible. This bike is so sweeeeet!
