Default Need Husky info!

I have a customer that brought in a 2008 CR125 for some suspension work. He weighs about 215 lbs and has a 28" inseam. I am going to lower the suspension and spring it for his weight. It has the 45 shivers on the front which I am familiar with but it has a Sachs rear shock which I know nothing about. The customer said that he already had a suspension shop lower the rear shock but he didn't have them respring it for his weight. To me it looks like the shock hasn't been lowered at all.
I guess my question is does anyone know what the stock shock length is from eye to eye and the stock spring rate. Also curious what the stock spring weight is on the front forks. Thanks! Ross

This info is from and 09 for what it's worth. There was a frame change from 08-09 but I think the shock was the same. center to center of eye holes 460mm spring rate 5.2

Rosco,

On my 2008 CR125, the stock rear spring was a 5.0. I used a 5.4 spring and weigh about 170 lb. I would guess he would need a 5.8 or even a 6.0. The guys on Cafe Husky found that the rear spring rate needed to be higher than you would typically expect.

The stock front springs were 0.40 if I recall correctly. I had to lower to a 0.38 to get the right sag settings and front to rear balance. He might be ok on the front. I would get the rear dialed in first, then see how the front sags.

For some reason Husky made the rear spring too soft and the front spring too stiff.

Go Husky!

Those Sachs shocks are a bundle of fun. I'll have one from a 09/10 WR300 in for a service next week, along with the KYB forks. Not sure if they used the same shock as the 125.

Last Sachs I had pulled down was from an 07 TE450. Internally it had a really dick circlip setup for the top out spring which couldn't be removed. Ended up having to remove the clevis to change the bump stop.
