Default Cover Me, Boys, I'm Goin' In....

Another convert from the Austrian kool-aid to the Spanish. After many years of KTMs, back to when they were called Pentons & had Sachs engines, I put aside my xenophobia & with some anxiety, worked a deal on an '07 300 EC.

Thanks to all for the advice; I am sure that I will be troubling ya'll with more newbie questions as I try to get this thing figured out.

Thumbs up

Awesome, good luck. Don't forget to post a review (and it will be positive) on KTMTalk.

Did you do this blind or have you ridden one first?

1 & the same!

I rode it a couple of times before I bought it. a buddy of mine opened up a shop a couple of miles from my house, selling G-G, TM & HBG. the shop manager, an A-AA type of racer, was riding & racing this 1, so it's set up for my weight, has air cells, heavy springs, & a brand-new Scott's damper. I swapped 'em my KTM for it, + a little cash to cover the aftermarket stuff on this 1. by the time I sell all of the duplicate stuff that I stripped off the KTM, it'll be a sweet deal for all concerned.

I've been interested in G-G for a long time, but the lack of a local shop held me back. that's no problem now! my buddy came by my house at 6:30 am to pick up the KTM, he thinks he has it sold already. I'll pick up the new 1 today or tomorrow & get going on it this w/e, will post a report.

I thought it was you. I just missed you at the Gobbler Getter this weekend! I was parked next to Cahoona but I left after he came in at the gas stop. By the way, I am Austruck over on KTMTalk. Glad to hear you got you a GG. Now maybe I won't catch so much grief from the Koolaid drinkers that I ride with.

You'll need to come down and ride with us sometime. I have a good friend that is a member at Perry Mtn and sometimes we just go down there for a good trail ride.

Enjoy the new ride!

Hey Alan,

I looked for you, too, but never found you. that was an awesome ride!

I would love to hook up w/ya'll down there sometime, I've enjoyed riding there since I 1st went there in the mid-70s, & would be glad to return the favor if you get up around Mempho.

I'm excited about this Gas Gas, it's always fun getting a new bike.

Thanks, Reverup!

I got in 45-50 miles on it last w/e. I won't bore you guys w/ a ride report, you already know about them, but here are 2 things that surprised me:

1. it's faster than my KTM 300. I overshot corners all day. I expected smoother but slower.

2. it gets fuel mileage like my wife's Camry. how'd they manage that? I'm no longer so worried about the small gas tank.

thanks for all the advice. I really like this bike.
