Default Kaurit Moto Tire Mounting Tool TMT4

Last fall, I bought a TMT4 from Kaurit Moto in Estonia.

A very impressive tool. I have friends using the well proven Rabaconda and I also own another, simpler variant, but for my use, the TMT4 is the one I prefer.

It is very well designed and (nice at my age) provides a working height that means that I don't have to work on the floor to change tires anymore.

It is mainly presented as a mousse changer, but I use it with mousses, tubes and the T-lock system. It works very well for all kinds. It is adjustable regarding tire size, and can be used all the way down to 10". However, I have only used it with 18, 19 and 21" rims so far.

I think I have changed 10-15 tires on it so far, and am very pleased.

Kaurit Moto has a set of videos, here is one that shows TMT4 in use

the tool looks a bit more substantial than the baja no-pinch tool

I presume the Baja tool is a copy of the original TMT. Yes, TMT is very substantial and is a nice part of the TMT4 kit. The complete TMT4 setup impresses me, although I started out with the TMT "pushing rod" alone at first. After a year using that, I bought the complete adjustable TMT4 frame with the foot-operated lever that controls the arm that pushes the tire up and / or down from the rim's edge.

That looks real nice. I put it on my wish list about 18 months ago, maybe I will get one in October.

Man that thing is nice, I really like that setup. The Kaurit was the nicest of all the machines I came across when I was looking for a mousse "machine" last year, but it was a bit out of my budget. I ended up buying a "Unit e1410" which seemed to closely match my wants/needs. Unfortunately since I haven't been riding, neither have most of my friends, so I still haven't used the thing! I may still buy the Kaurit TMT (just the bead pusher) down the road.

Yes, I use it with my T-Lock equipped wheels. T-Lock is quite similar to Tubliss. I find the TMT4 very useful in that situation also.
