Default Cometic gasket set

Bought a lower end rebuild kit for an 05 EC250 and it came with a Cometic gasket kit. Couldn't be more disappointed with the quality of these gaskets. The ONLY gasket in the kit that fit perfect was the water intake on top of the head. Center case gasket had 2 places where the gasket barely touched the casting. Water pump gasket wasn't even close...I could have done better with a pencil and scissors. The clutch side case and clutch cover fit ok, still had to trim holes to get it to lie up on the casting, but I see a nice puddle of oil under my engine this morning after sitting all night. Torqued it again and its still seeping so now im pissed. Headed to auto parts to find gasket paper and make my own. Buyer beware...these SUCK! Thank you to Beaver Creek Cycle for having a water pump gasket in stock...I've learned my lesson.

Wow that sucks. I have always had good luck with Cometic gaskets on our snowmobiles and even had them make gaskets for us with great luck.

Im figuring this is just a GasGas specific fitment issue. I've put Cometic on a Honda before and they were fine. For a more common application I'm sure they work great.

Wow. I got the side cover and base gaskets for my 07 and they were great.

Maybe the guy that sold me the kit sold me the wrong one. I will see if I can get a part number off of it. Anywho, bought some Fel-Pro paper from the auto parts, used a combo of 270 and .45 casings, and have some nice new gaskets. Bolted, torqued, and added fluid last night...NO leaks this morning. It almost looked like the oil seeped through the Cometic gasket paper...weird.

When I got the GG gasket kit from GG they came with a few sets that were slightly different. I think the new engines have different gaskets.
