Watchdog computer ?

I have a watchdog computer yesterday while racing an enduro in the rain.I went to bump my mileage up a little as it was off a few tenths.I was pushing the button up and went past so I pushed the down button and I'm guessing it stuck cuz the numbers just started flying.So i hit the up button and it just plain shut off and started flashing off .Did this for 10 min or so and then turned off completly.Glad it was a restart format and not a time keeper.Any idea's what went wrong .Anyone else ever have this happen.Don't know if it was the rain or what .Going to call company also.Thanks
