Default Changing pilot jets

Can anyone change a PJ on a PWK without taking the carby out of the bike?

(I got a 2005 EC250)

It can be done by just rotating the carb. On my bike the clutch slave guard interferes so I normally just pull the carb and take advantage of cleaning it up while its out.

Sure you can. Rotate it toward you and remove cap/slide. Rotate the other way and drain/remove bowl. Like eff I have a slave guard but trimmed the top for clearance. Soon this will all be over, I hope. Come on May 1.

Hijacked!

I will have a Lectron in my filthy little hands come Monday. Dave from TSP here in Australia has just become a dealer and will be sending me one for evaluation. He said I can hold onto it for a month, so I'll probably fit it and continue riding on my engine for another 10-15hours. After that rebuild time and hopefully not much longer after that my cast SC will be here so I should have some decent comparisons to report between all 3 (AS2/SC/Lectron) although the SC will have the added bonus of being tested on a freshly rebuilt engine.

Be careful when removing the bowl from the carb with it on the bike. There is a strong possibility that the float pin will fall out as will the float itself. The float is easy to find, it's that damn little pin and the needle that can be buggers to find.

I saw a thread on another forum where someone notched the drain bung on the AS1 carb to access the pilot jet. I looked at mine and may well perform that trick on the near future. Just make sure you don't compromise the seating area of the o-ring on the plug.
