Power valve mystery
Talking about EC300, 2009.
When I got the bike, the PV left hand vent (?) hose had been plugged and the right hose was breathing directly into the atmosphere. Later I installed a 10 mm spacer between the engine and LH cover, which clearly improved low end torque. Now I unplugged and re-plugged the LH hose, and found that plugging has a significant effect on low end grunt! Having dismantled the PV parts a couple of times, I really cannot figure out why plugging the hose or having the spacer should have any effect on PV operation. Does anyone have informed opinions? |

The left power valve hose is a drain.
It is ziptied closed for the EU requirements. The hose fitting on the left has a calibrated orifice. The fitting is interchangeable with the right side transmission vent. I'm thinking the fittings may be swapped. Over venting the left power valve chamber. |
