I took the damaged bsket assembaly apart, it does have the dampeners in place. Several of them are cracked/ripped.

I had an EFM on my bike at one time. The dampers are used. In fact, the early EFM its own clutch basket. What he does now is modify the stock basket with threaded holes in the ends of the basket fingers and the rest of the clutch assembly is stock except for the pressure plate, which is bolted onto the clutch basket at the ends of the fingers.
I replaced the dampeners just before I went back to a standard clutch. The old ones had cracks. In hindsight they were probably okay but sometimes it's better to replace them if in doubt. Jon '01 XC300 Last edited by jlk_250; 10-01-2006 at 06:45 AM. Reason: add my name |
