Default New to GasGas and new owner of 1999 EC300! Graphic/color question

I've always rode MX and into orange but have recently moved over to more extreme enduro type riding and I must say I MUCH prefer it. I love my orange bike but have always loved the GasGas look.

So when I found an old 99 EC300 cheap I jumped on it. I'm saving and saving to try to get a new XC/EC 250 but times are tough these days so it may take a while.

But anyway...the 99 EC300 seems like a great enduro bike! The best four stroke ever made. The 300 two stroke!!

Ohlins, Marzocchis, ProTapers, FMF Gold pipe, Cycra handguards, Scotts bar clamp, Michelin tires....some very nice OEM and aftermarket parts on here. I do think the rims could be better but nonetheless I am pretty excited with my purchase.

A few questions. The bike has undergone some cosmetic changes. It has the banana yellow front fender and rear fender which are in great shape but I honestly don't like them. The shrouds are the light red or pink rather with a Throttle Jockey pink and yellow graphic.

I know you can get all new plastics from like gofasters but honestly its over $200 for the plastics and some shroud graphics would run another $60 and the whole bike was only $700 and runs great. I actually like the pink but not the yellow so thought of just getting the pink (light red fenders) to go along with the pink shrouds.

Has anyone got any reasonable suggestions cost wise? I could get a newer looking graphic done by PG Graphics as they have the 99 template but the color of these plastics is creating problems. Wish they were white.

Also, does anyone happen to have an extra GG headlight and or tailight for this model and kickstand? Whoever had it before removed the lighting and kickstand which I really need. It doesn't have to be OEM, just needs to work.

And also, if anyone has any pics of the light red/pink graphics I would love to see what originally looked like.

Anyway, I do appreciate everyone here's help as I am all new to GG (even if it is an old 99 it's still new to me).

I've spoke with Clay a couple of times. Great guy and I'm excited to be a small part of the great GG community!!!

the 1999 ec300 was blue.

1999 ec250

and here's what a 99 ec300 should look like. there are quite a few variations of shroud graphics on the 99/2000 models

you can, relatively easily, update the bike to look like up to 06 or so with just minor changes.

I've got a pink front fender if wanting (off 2000 GG250)...I'd trade straight up for your yellow rear fender

I've actually struggled to find replacement radiator shrouds for my '99. I don't think they make them anymore and NOS parts are extremely hard to track down. My front fender is off of the '09 YZ250 and the rear fender and panels are off of the mid '90's KX250. Any front fender should work if you drill the correct holes.

The Trail Tech halogen headlight works extremely well for the price. I've tried a few different aftermarket headlights, and this one seems to put out the most amount of light for under $100.

My '99 is still my main bike and I ride it at least a few times a week. Its pretty far from what it was stock, which is probably why I still have it. Newer ohlins forks rebuilt and tuned by STM are the newest addition and they are quite awesome.

Thanks for the replies, everyone. I'm so new to all this.

Stainlesscycles...what mods would need to be done to get it where I can use more current plastics? In particular, I wish I could mod it where I could use the plastic that is the GG red of today. Not sure when GG's red of say 2012 actually came into effect. Was it in the mid 2000s or was it later like 2011? I'm kinda new to it but I'm not really fond of the blue so would either keep it like it is or go with a black or if can somehow mod it where I can use the red plastics color of today. Not necessarily the updated as I know they won't work plastics but the trying to get the plastics that are the current red if possible.

Egesledder...is that the trailtech x2 halogen you have on your 99 ec300? That's the one I've been looking at. I'm ready to order a healdight but not sure what color scheme will go with so not sure what color headlight to order?

Also, does ANYONE have a kickstand and bracket that will fit?

Yes, it is the X2 halogen. I've also got a high output stator with a DC conversion because I was planning on going HID. With the high output stator, this halogen was so bright that I decided HID wasn't worth the extra cost.
