Default squish question

does altering the squish increase the operating temp?(assuming compression rate is kept same).a couple of posts mentioned that jetting may need to be slightly richer after squish optimized, could this be to offset a temp increase?recommend anyone to do the job in nz?thanks

No it doesn't, it will just run better. Search & read my thread about it.

Where abouts are you? I could post you a drawing I have on my template that I haven't reset since I did mine.

my jetting stayed as is, it was just cleaner. You don't say what bike you have. I've done my 02 200 & then my 07 300, but I don't have spare capacity to take on other people's work. [edit] . . . and at the bottom of your sig it sez 2013 200. so my template won't help.

You really need to measure the squish & then the compression. its easy to do & worth the effort. Read my thread & get back if there are questions, or send me a PM. I'm in the hutt wellington.

coastal Canterbury yeah thanks am going to measure squish at topend time(47hrs now)just collecting ideas for the rebuild.hav read most threads on squish but couldn't recall much about engine temp.was just thinkin that more efficient burn would equal more heat.il search your thread thanks.was going to do topend at 50hrs but have had the pipe off a couple times and piston looks perfect so might go 60-70.
