That is only when bike is running and charging. Full acid battery voltage is 12,5V - 12,6V, not more.

True, my bad, was reading off the trickle charger.

Talked to few dealers.
Since '15 there should be no known issues in the starter mechanism.

First kick from cold always start it by kick, then use button.

A few button starts in close proximity, and battery is drained. Only relay or plunger could be heard... tk tk
Next day measured 12.5V, connected it, got topped in 1/2hr, left overnight.
Now measures 13,0 few hrs after trickling.

It's no problem, if battery is to blame, but fear a sticking starter.

Just spend $75 on a lithium battery and throw the kicker in the trash bin. Lol

Now considering li ion, dealer said it is useless addon in tad over and below freezing temperatures.

Presume that if bike stored in warm garage, and while riding in freezing temp, its being charged, should be ok.

Maybe frequent start stops take its toll, if riding in low temps.

The trick with a Li-ion battery in cold temps is they need to "warm up". It only takes a minute at most. If you try to use the button right off the truck when it's cold chances are you will think your battery is dead. With mine I usually just turn the headlight on while I get dressed to put a load on the battery and then she will crank right over when the time comes. KTM even has some sort of procedure in their owners manuals now since they have switched to Li batteries.

+1
common sense, why push the battery with cold start when you don't really need it then

Spoke tu eastern EU dealer, he advised to always kick the bike when cold, then button it.
Something about longevity of the starting system.

So li ion all the way!

Key switch is already wired so that light is always on.

The newer small starter is the same as a KTM, they are ok but I would consider it a re starter, not ideal for using all the time it wont last.

My thoughts also.
Untill they get it as integral part of the engine, and give it more direct gearing, they are more prone to breaking.

I really like the suspension in the woods. Plush yet firm, but Is there a tool available for the PFP preload adjustment?
Would really mess up thin anodizing with pliers.

Also, stock chain seems too short.
Already had to loosen it a bit to get that min 3cm clearance, but tyre is now too close to shock protector and rubbing it away.

Its that overstretch sound when 50% or more wheel travel is reached.
112 continuous chain, no connecting link.

Way better high speed and pretty much equal low speed handling

A generational leap me thinks.
Differences between 2009 and 2011?
