I have heard internal parts crossover - like powervalves, etc. Piston might, etc.

I have never heard an entire cylinder could be used.

You would need to confirm things yourself. Even if someone says it "fits" - you just never know how well it does so....

Default YZ 125 Cylinder on Gasgas EC 125

I have a 125 YZ cylinder here and it fit, but the hight is different and you need another cylinder head and piston. The power valve cover is different as well, here you can use the one from the 2012-2014 gasgas models

That is very interesting information. If I understand correctly, the cylinder head and the side covers are different? There are both flat top and domed pistons that can be used in the GG and YZ cylinders depending on the cylinder head.

I think there was an auto correct or translation error. What is different ("the night")?

The GasGas cylinder head is inside the cylinder and the YZ is flat just on top. I can take tomorrow some pictures but now it’s time to go to bed. :-)

I am not 100% sure, but this is the kit they mount on the 2012-2014 bikes

Thank you for the detailed photos! Looks like the cylinder mounting studs are bigger on the YZ but we could use washers with flange head bolts.
