Sagging footpegs
I have a 07 GG 300 with lots of miles and sagging footpegs. I want to restore the footpeg pin holes back to round. Do I need to pull the motor or can the mounting holes be welded with the engine in place? Any tips on how to best restore footpeg holes that are out of round?
Thanks |

You could go slightly oversize on the pin and make the mount and footpeg holes larger to match.
It would be easier than welding up the peg mounts.

MY plan is to get some flat bar stock and make some thick "washers" to weld to the frame. Are there any issues with welding on the 07 Gas Gas frame. The guy doing the welding want's to know what the frame is made of, chrome moly right?

Paul,
4130 chrome moly. A TIG welder and 4130 wire is the best way to go. This is what was used on my '01 XC300 peg mount. I beefed it up. Years later it has not broken.
