Replaced brake rotors and pads on my friend's EC250 and also exchanged the front sprocket for a smaller one by one tooth. (13 to 12). We figured that it needed the shorter gearing since most of the riding is done on 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear and it felt kinda sluggish down there at the revs.
Happy holidays Everybody!

I am depressed over the GasGas / KTM deal (and I own 3 KTMs at this point), and sort of sad that I dropped a few hundred bucks on a GG transformation kit.

I have new plastics which is good.

The new plastics won't let me use my WER steering damper on my 2002 model bike, which is bad.

I like riding with steering dampers, which is good.

So, i scouted around on E-bay, and found a new Showa Steering damper and a bracket for a new KTM frame for less money than a new Showa damper alone from Rocky Mountain ATV.

So, bought the damper and the mount from Ebay, and gave the mount to a buddy.

I built a prototype mount for the GasGas, which turned out OK. The only problem is that i can't run the factory head light in the mask w/o cutting up the headlight / reflector, so I ordered a new HL mask w/o the optics.

Anyway, i am not going to be sad anymore. If i can no longer fix the GG, then i'll just buy a Yamaha yz250x, and take the Showa damper with me.

It looks like it took my image, so here it is.

Thanks.

Thanks. I did it on the fly - no design, few measurements. Tried to tuck it in as far as possible to try to allow the headlight to work. I am going to install a thin LED into the new mask when it arrives - the OEM reflector/bulb setup is too deep.

I'll post it up once i have it installed (assuming Moto Center in AZ is still able to source parts).

Default Studded tires :)

first time with studs and what a blast! only thing that can wipe the smile off is the shat E-start. i was already huffing and puffing from being stuck, having to kick it on a slippery side hill didnt help that :P

Took it out riding, to get the first scratches in the new plastics / decal kit.

UPDATE: I spent yesterday afternoon mounting a thin, Amazon LED headlight into a new GG headlight / number plate which fits the bike and which will illuminate things. The stock HL would not fit with the damper. Attached are three pictures (if you care) of the front of the plate, back of the plate, and what it looks like on the bike.

Props to MotoCenter GasGas for promptly ordering parts and having them to me in about a week, even with me forgetting parts and having them change the order.

I haven't really raced since 2011, and ridden much since the Shane Watts school in 2014 (with my daughter - a riot!), but I am going to try to ride/race a few events this year (FWIW).

I hope Mark Berg's "spare parts announcement" helps me have this bike make it to its 20'th birthday in 2022. Too many many good memories to not keep it running.

Thanks for sharing this with us. It looks great. Props to Neil at MotoCenter for doing this. I may have to try it on my 2011.
