Default Newbie questions on needles and plugs

Does anyone know the difference between the main needles that can be used. my '10 EC250 came with an N1EG, but my local shop is trying to get me to use a CCH (?) needle, which does not appear on the needle chart on the "sticky" list. Can anyone help me decipher the whole needle biz.

Also my local shop has been pushing a BR7 plug, but the bike manual calls for a BR8, what's the difference between the plugs? I'm a newbie trying to figure this out and there isn't a lot of literature out there.

Thanks

I can't really comment on the needle but there are lots of posts about them

The 7 plug is hotter than the 8 this means it retains heat longer so if you are doing a lot of slow riding you may benefit from a hotter plug if you were doing some high speed high revs riding you may want to use a 9 as it is cooler- it disperses the heat quicker to the engine
If you were using a 9 riding slow sections the bike will probably splutter a bit when you get to a fast section (or want to blip over an obstacle) until it warms up

Thanks for the reply. It looks like my local shop IS listening to me, since that is how I ride here in NY.
