Where's the new GasGas North America website?
Back in mid July, we all found out about Barrett Marketing Group (BMG) taking over as the North American importer. It's been four months now and very little information has been published. Luckily, this forum has discussed some of the news. It's sad that even a basic website has not been created yet.
Am I the only one that thinks this is unacceptable? 1/3 of the year passes and nothing is released.

I would give the guys at BMG a break. They did a super job with the Husaberg.com website. I cant see them doing any less with the GG one.

I have to agree with Matt. Setting up a website is not very difficult and is an extremely powerful marketing tool.
Actually, there has been no information for quite some time. |

Imagine when a potential new GG customer searches on Yahoo or Google for GasGas. What links do they find? Luckily, this site is on top of the list, but nothing about BMG (the new life line for North America). That's my issue with no website. Hell, make Husaberg and GasGas a joint website... just get something out there for the public.

The lack of a web site seems to be a bad sign that there are issues so pressing that even a simple web site isn't a priority. If pricing and bike content isn't worked out you're not going to be selling bikes anyway.

Scotty R. I think alot of us would prefer the EC not the DE. At least in Wash. State. 2t and 4t. It would effect my future purchases. We need to be able to connect to fireroads and green dot roads etc. to continue our trail riding alot of the time. Plus where I live I ride the paved roads to get to single track.

I also would rather the ec to de. What would really be nice is a de that came withe the lights, switches etc. in a box and a add on lighting coil like the 97-98 bikes had. My 97 has the ducati energia coil(like the eline for those that never saw the older GG). That is greatas if you want to ride in the sand and dont need the lighting you can change over to a different cover and pull the extra rotor off, then you have a small ign bike. I like having the lighting coil and use my bike on short 4-5 mile sections of road to connect trails.

Dixie Sales is the u.s. subsidiary of Barret Marking Group (BMG) - Look on www.dixiesales.com and you will see a gasgas logo pointing to www.gas-gas.net. So there is a gasgas site. But having a new one developed is not an insignificant task.
It actually takes quite a bit of time to do a website (particularly if you have a dealer area for ordering parts on-line etc.). I am with Scott - cut em some slack and give them some time. It took a long time for the gas-gas.net site to come on-line when GasGas Motors took over as well (like over a year!) jeff |

Radar is turned on
Sorry, but we are trying to resolve some questions with the factory prior to rolling out a new website. I'd rather put up accurate information (about the configuration and pricing of the motorcycles, etc.) than go back and change things.
And regarding my falling off the radar, I read this forum every day. I'm just not a believer in posting for posting's sake. If you have any specific questions, please direct them to me in an appropriately titled thread and I'll do my best to answer them. Best regards, Brett Saunders |
