Default EC 300 Exhaust dB

I have an 07 300. I am going to the Spring Ride at Loretta Lynn's and there is a 98 dB limit on exhaust noise. I have the stock exhaust.

Will I have a problem? Does anyone know what the typical dB is for a stock 300?

Thanks,

Josh

The FMF TC-2 silencer really isn't all that quiet. With fresh packing mine tests around 94 to 95 dbA, same as my shorty moto-silencer with fresh packing.

If you're concerned your bike may be too loud, the packing my be burnt or oil-soaked. Go ahead and re-pack your silencer before the ride. I usually re-pack my silencer twice a year... depending on how much I ride.

My 2006 with an FMF T-2 recently tested somewhere between 92 and 95. The sound level to me is the same as the stock silencer. I passed, so as long as your packing is ok, shouldn't be a problem, especially with any 4T's around to compare.

You'll be fine. I'll be there as well.

I go to the spring or fall ride every year (sometimes both) and sometimes they wave me on through with out checking since GASGAS and KTM 2strokes are so quite.

I'm sure my packing is fine. I just got the bike earlier this year and it hasn't been thru a sound check. I didn't want to drive 3.5 hours, pay 50 bucks, burn a vacation day, and have hotel reservations only to find out I didn't pass the sound check.

Looks like I'll be fine.

Thanks,

Josh

Just when you repack,, put the better stuff in,, it does make a difference. At least it did in mine. My 03 250 tested around 91 with the good packing. My 97 stock silencer was quieter but didnt have a s/a.. I have a DB snorkle and it made a big difference in sound and didnt take away any power. Actually gave a slight increase of bottom end.
